President Donald Trump predicted Friday that he will face former Vice President Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election, writing on Twitter that aside from Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders, the Democratic field is “fading fast.”
“Looks to me like it’s going to be SleepyCreepy Joe over Crazy Bernie,” Trump tweeted, pinning nicknames to the two Democratic frontrunners.

Earlier Friday morning, in the midst of touting his trade strategy amid an escalating trade war with China, Trump attacked Biden over his role with the Obama Administration and its handling of trade negotiations with China.
“Tariffs will make our Country MUCH STRONGER, not weaker. Just sit back and watch! In the meantime, China should not renegotiate deals with the U.S. at the last minute,” he tweeted. “This is not the Obama Administration, or the Administration of Sleepy Joe, who let China get away with ‘murder!'”
Trump has been adamant Biden would be his opponent since the former vice president officially announced his run in April.
“Welcome to the race Sleepy Joe. I only hope you have the intelligence, long in doubt, to wage a successful primary campaign,” Trump tweeted April 25, the same day Biden announced he would be joining the already crowded 2020 Democratic field. “It will be nasty – you will be dealing with people who truly have some very sick & demented ideas. But if you make it, I will see you at the Starting Gate!
